Atatürk Cultural Center

Right on Taksim Square, the Atatürk Cultural Center is a multi-purpose cultural center and opera house, and an icon of Istanbul.

The Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) stands on Taksim Square, at the top of İstiklal Street. The present building was rebuilt on the site of the original center and reopened in 2021.

Its program includes opera, ballet, concerts, theatre and exhibitions, and it is home to the city's main opera stage.
